WCCW Mission Statement

The Washington Coalition for Comfort Women Issues, Inc. (WCCW) is an independent, non-profit advocacy group dedicated to the pursuit of justice for the so-called “Comfort Women” of WWII. These wartime victims – forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese Imperial Army during WWII – still await official acknowledgement, apology, and reparations from the Japanese government.

WCCW promotes education around the significance of women’s rights through the legacies of “comfort women” survivors, and seeks to eradicate and prevent any types of sexual crimes globally by promoting public awareness of the egregious distortions in school textbooks about the “Comfort Women” and research of sexual slavery and human trafficking.

WCCW is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit organization founded in December 1992 in Washington DC, and welcomes persons of all genders, races, and nationalities.
